What Is the Schoology App?

The Schoology app is the official mobile app for Schoology, the learning platform used by the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD). It puts your classes, assignments, grades, and teacher messages in your pocket — free for all EPISD students, parents, and teachers.

The app is available for both iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices.

How to Download the Schoology App

On iPhone / iPad

1. Open the App Store
2. Search for “Schoology” (published by Schoology, Inc.)
3. Tap Get and install

On Android

1. Open the Google Play Store
2. Search for “Schoology”
3. Tap Install

Warning: Only download the official app by Schoology. Fake lookalike apps exist — check the developer name before installing.

How to Log In to the Schoology App (EPISD)

Students

1. Open the app and tap Log In
2. Enter your EPISD email (firstname.lastname@episd.org) and your password (your student ID or birthdate in MMDDYYYY format by default)
3. Or tap Log in with Google and choose your @episd.org Google account (SSO)
4. You’ll land on your dashboard with all your courses

Parents

1. You need a Parent Access Code first (ask your child’s teacher or school office)
2. Open the app, tap Sign Up, and choose Parent
3. Enter your 12-digit access code, then complete registration

What Can You Do in the Schoology App?

• View assignments — see what’s due and when, across all courses
• Check grades — current grades per course, updated by teachers
• Submit work — upload assignments and photos directly from your phone
• Messages — chat with teachers and classmates
• Notifications — get alerts for new assignments, grades, and announcements
• Calendar — all due dates in one place

Tips for EPISD Students

• Turn on notifications so you never miss an assignment deadline
• Use the app to photograph and submit handwritten work
• Check the Grades tab weekly to catch slipping grades early
• On a school-managed iPad or MacBook, install the app via Self-Service

Troubleshooting: Schoology App Not Working?

Can’t log in

Make sure you’re using your full @episd.org email. If the password fails, use Forgot Password or ask your teacher to reset it. EPISD students logging in for the first time must set up their Office 365 account first.

App crashes or won’t load

Update to the latest version, then try logging out and back in. If it persists, uninstall and reinstall the app.

Courses missing

Common at semester start — teachers need to enroll you first. Wait 24 hours after your teacher confirms enrollment.

No notifications

Check your phone’s Settings → Notifications → Schoology and make sure alerts are allowed.
