SSO login step by step

Follow these steps to access your Schoology account using your EPISD Google credentials. No separate password required.

Start here
Go to the Schoology login page

Visit app.schoology.com/login in your browser, or click the “Go to Schoology Login” button on this page. You can also access it through the EPISD student/staff portal if your school has a direct link.

💡Bookmark it: Save the Schoology login page for quick access next time. You can also create a shortcut on your phone’s home screen.

SSO option
Click “Log in with Google”

On the Schoology login screen, look for the “Log in with Google” button — it’s typically displayed below or alongside the username/password fields. Click it to initiate Google SSO authentication.

⚠️Don’t use email/password: EPISD accounts are managed through Google SSO. Entering a Schoology-specific password will not work for district accounts.

Sign in with your EPISD Google account

You’ll be redirected to Google’s sign-in screen. Enter your full EPISD-issued Google account — students use their student ID @episd.org, teachers and staff use their staff email @episd.org. Enter your district Google password to continue.

🔑Forgot your Google password? Contact your school’s IT department or visit the EPISD password reset portal at support@episd.org.

Verification
Complete two-step verification (if prompted)

If your EPISD Google account has two-step verification (2FA) enabled, you’ll be asked to verify your identity via a code sent to your phone or email, or via an authenticator app. Complete this step to proceed.

📱2FA not set up? Students typically don’t have 2FA. Staff accounts may require it as a security measure — check with your IT department.

You’re in!
You’re now signed in to Schoology

After successful authentication, you’ll be automatically redirected to your Schoology dashboard. Students will see their enrolled courses, teachers will see their classes and gradebooks, and admins will see their district management panel.

Stay signed in: On personal devices, you can check “Stay signed in” on Google to skip the sign-in step next time. Avoid this on shared or school computers.

Student Sign-In Guide

Students sign in using their EPISD-issued Google account (studentID@episd.org). No separate Schoology username or password is needed.

Go to app.schoology.com/login on any device.

Enter your student Google email (studentID@episd.org) and district password.

You’ll land on your student dashboard showing all enrolled courses.

Parent & Guardian Sign-In Guide

Parents access Schoology through a separate Parent account linked to their child’s profile. Parent accounts do not use Google SSO — they require a Schoology-specific login or a parent access code.

Go to app.schoology.com/login and select “Parent/Guardian” if prompted.

If you have a Schoology parent account, enter your email and password directly.

First time? Contact your child’s school for your unique Parent Access Code to create your account.

Once inside, you’ll see your child’s courses, grades, and upcoming assignments.
⚠️Note: Parent accounts are separate from student accounts. You cannot log in using your child’s Google credentials. If you’ve lost your access code, email support@episd.org.

Teacher & Staff Sign-In Guide

EPISD teachers and staff sign in using their district Google account via SSO. Your Schoology account is pre-provisioned and linked to your staff email.

📋New to EPISD? Your Schoology account is typically created within 1–2 business days of your district Google account being set up. Contact support@episd.org if your account hasn’t appeared.

Administrator Sign-In Guide

District and school administrators access Schoology through the same Google SSO path as staff, but with elevated permissions that unlock district-wide tools.

Sign in with your EPISD admin Google account (staff@episd.org with admin privileges).

After login, navigate to School/System Management via the top navigation to access admin tools.

Use the Admin panel to manage users, courses, roles, and district-wide settings.

Having trouble signing in? Here are the most common questions we receive about Schoology SSO access.

I don’t see a “Log in with Google” button. What do I do?+
The “Log in with Google” button should appear on the main Schoology login page at app.schoology.com/login. If it doesn’t appear, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If the issue persists, contact EPISD IT at support@episd.org — your school’s SSO configuration may need to be verified.
I signed in with Google but Schoology says my account doesn’t exist.+
This usually means your Schoology account hasn’t been provisioned yet, or there’s a mismatch between your Google account email and your Schoology profile. For students, accounts are typically created at the start of each school year. For new staff, allow 1–2 business days. Contact support@episd.org with your name, school, and role for assistance.
I forgot my EPISD Google account password. How do I reset it?+
Since Schoology uses Google SSO, your Schoology access depends on your EPISD Google account. To reset your Google password, contact your school’s IT coordinator or email support@episd.org. Students can also ask their teacher or school office to initiate a password reset.
Can I use Schoology on my phone or tablet?+
Yes! Download the free Schoology app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app, select “Log in with Google,” and use your EPISD Google credentials. The mobile app supports all core features including assignments, messages, grades, and course resources.
I’m a parent — can I log in with Google too?+
Parent accounts are separate from student/staff accounts and do not use Google SSO. To access Schoology as a parent, you’ll need a unique Parent Access Code provided by your child’s school. Once you have the code, create a free Schoology account at app.schoology.com/login using your own personal email. Contact your school’s front office or support@episd.org to obtain your code.
My courses aren’t showing up after I log in. What’s wrong?+
Course enrollments are synced from the district’s student information system. If you’ve recently enrolled or your schedule changed, allow up to 24 hours for the sync to complete. If courses are still missing after that, contact your teacher or support@episd.org and provide your student ID and the course name.
Is Schoology safe? Who can see my information?+
Yes. Schoology is a FERPA-compliant learning management system used by thousands of districts nationwide. Student data is protected under federal privacy law. Only authorized EPISD staff, teachers, and the student themselves can access student records. Parents have access to their own child’s data only. Schoology uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission.
